Automated pre-trip medical examination system
Tetron Med Explorer

Tetron Med Explorer is an integrated hardware and software system designed to automate pre-trip, pre-shift, post-trip and post-shift medical examinations for specific categories of employees, as required by the Labor Code of the Russian Federation and other applicable federal laws.

The system is designed with reference to the requirements of Order No. 835n of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation dated December 15, 2014, and Order No. 965n dated November 30, 2017, governing the organization and delivery of medical care using telemedicine technologies.
  • Compliance with the requirements of the Order of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation No. 835 n dated 15.12.2014
  • Remote configuration via a mobile application via Bluetooth
  • Shockproof sealed housing
  • Data transmission via Bluetooth version 5 or higher

How the system works

Driver identification
The driver is authenticated through the mobile application using one of two methods:
  • Employee identification number.
  • Electronic driver identification card using MIFARE, an NFC tag or an iBeacon.
Data collection
Collecting data about the current status of the driver. The questions are asked: “Did you get enough sleep?” and “Are there any complaints about how you feel?”
Measurement of pressure parameters
The non-invasive blood pressure measurement module of the medical terminal measures the current blood pressure and pulse parameters.
Measurement of temperature parameters
The temperature measurement module of the medical terminal receives data from the temperature sensor and measures the current temperature.
Measurement of alcohol content parameters
The ethanol vapor analyzer module measures the concentration of ethanol vapors in an air sample.
Results
The driver signs the results of the examination, which will later be recorded in the electronic medical examination log.

Functional Requirements:

  1. Communication with and control of the main unit via Bluetooth.
  2. Implementation of the medical examination workflow.
  3. Sending commands to initiate the measurement cycle.
  4. Displaying measurement results in the mobile application.
  5. Printing measurement results using a Bluetooth-connected thermal printer.
  6. Enabling the patient to sign the measurement results.
  7. Transferring measurement results to cloud-based software.
Main medical examination unit
The main unit is designed for rapid measurement of essential medical parameters during pre-trip, post-trip, pre-shift, post-shift and intrashift medical examinations conducted by a remote healthcare professional.
Its purpose is to support the identification of medical conditions, including alcohol intoxication and residual effects of alcohol consumption, that may prevent an employee from safely performing their duties.

Main functions:
  • Authenticates the patient before the examination using contactless EM-Marine identification cards.
  • Records the patient's acknowledgment and acceptance of the examination results.
  • Measures blood pressure and pulse rate using an oscillometric blood pressure measurement system and cuff.
  • Receives and processes data from the external temperature and breath alcohol measurement module.
  • Stores measurement results and transmits them to a smartphone via Bluetooth.
The system enters Sleep Mode when communication with the MedExplorer mobile application is unavailable.

In this mode, the device minimizes power consumption to preserve the charge of its integrated rechargeable battery.

Sleep Mode may also be activated when external power is disconnected and the internal battery voltage falls below 2 V.
External temperature and breath alcohol measurement unit
The external unit integrates a breath alcohol analyzer and a contactless body temperature measurement module.

It is designed to:
  • Measure the concentration of alcohol in exhaled breath.
  • Measure the patient's body temperature without physical contact using an infrared sensor.
The external unit features a visible RGB LED status indicator and an audible indicator that guides the user through the breath alcohol measurement procedure.

The contactless thermometer operates by measuring infrared radiation emitted by the human body.Any object with a temperature above absolute zero (0 K, or −273.15°C) emits electromagnetic radiation related to its temperature. The sensor detects this radiation and uses it to estimate the patient's body temperature.
Blood pressure cuff
The cuff is designed for measuring blood pressure and pulse rate as part of the medical examination system.
