Automatic water meter reading system
TeleAqua

TeleAqua is an automated meter reading system designed to collect pulse signals from water meters, flow meters and other metering devices.

The device records and stores measurement data and transmits it over an NB-IoT network. The system eliminates the need for manual meter readings, enables remote consumption monitoring, helps detect water leaks and provides information about equipment status.

The solution is suitable for utility providers, property management companies, maintenance organizations and smart city projects. It helps reduce the cost of manual meter reading, simplifies remote monitoring and improves data accuracy.
  • Water leak and tamper detection
  • MQTT data transmission
  • NB-IoT connectivity with offline data storage
  • Non-volatile FIFO storage for 2,000 data packets

Functional Requirements:

  1. The mobile application must support local configuration and adjustment of device operating parameters via Bluetooth.
Pulse Counter
The pulse counter is designed to count electrical pulses received through two independent inputs, store the accumulated readings and transmit the data over an NB-IoT network.

The device can be used to collect readings from utility meters and industrial equipment equipped with pulse outputs, including reed switches (dry contacts), open-collector outputs and NAMUR sensors.

It also features terminals for connecting a wired water leak sensor, a housing tamper detection sensor and a Hall-effect sensor for detecting magnetic interference.

The following devices can be connected to the pulse counter:
  • pulse-output flow meters and water meters;
  • water leak sensors;
  • external equipment providing alarm signals.
Benefits of the automated water meter reading system
TeleAqua enables businesses and utility operators to automate meter reading, reduce operating costs, improve measurement accuracy and achieve greater transparency in resource consumption monitoring.

The system helps minimize the risks associated with water leaks, unauthorized interference and manual data collection errors while improving remote monitoring and maintenance operations.

  • Reduced operating costs
    The system eliminates the need for regular site visits and manual meter readings.
    • Key Benefit: automated data collection reduces infrastructure maintenance costs and enables faster analysis of resource consumption.
  • Improved metering accuracy and transparency
    The device records pulse signals from connected meters, while its built-in non-volatile memory prevents the loss of readings during temporary network outages.
    • Key Benefit: more consistent data, fewer billing disputes, reduced need for recalculations and fewer customer complaints.
  • Detection of leaks and abnormal conditions
    With support for water leak sensors, enclosure tamper detection and Hall-effect magnetic sensing, the system helps monitor the security and operating condition of connected equipment.
    • Key Benefit: reduced financial risks and improved operational reliability.
  • Accelerated digital transformation and smart infrastructure development
    The system allows organizations to implement modern digital monitoring solutions without extensive upgrades to their existing metering infrastructure.
    • Key Benefit: improved technological capabilities and smarter infrastructure management without substantial capital investment.
